EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Annual Congress

The Annual National Congress is the most prominent medical event in Turkey and attracts more than 3000 people. It is an international event since 2000; an increasing number of prominent lecturers and attendees from all over the world join in the Annual Congress.

Also the number of abstracts submitted to the Congress by the cardiologists of the other countries increases rapidly. 24th and 25th Congresses will be held in ‹stanbul –European Capital of Culture 2010- on October 24-27, 2008 and on October 24-26, 2009 with a new line for oral presentations in English submitted by foreign cardiologists.

Electronic poster presentation introduced in 23rd Congress will also be applied in the future congresses.

CME Meetings

In addition to the Congress the Education Committeee and Working Groups organize several annual meetings and local CME programs. In 2007, 6532 doctors participated in the 18 CME meetings of 157 credit hours organized by the TSC. 8000 participants attended to 27 CME meetings of 240 credit hours in 2008. This figure is planned to exceed 8500 doctors in 25 meetings of 2008, together with the expected 4000 participants of the 24th National Cardiology Congress.

Among the other major meetings of TSC with international speakers and participants in 2008-2009 are

• 15th and 16th National Interventional Cardiology Meetings with live cases (15th meeting: June 12-15, 2008, Çeflme-Izmir)
• 11th and 12th National Echocardiography - Cardiac Imaging Meetings (11th meeting: May 8 - 10th, 2008, Bursa)
• Arrhytmia 2008 and Arrhytmia 2009 Meetings, (May 30 – 31st, 2008, Antalya)
• 3rd Heart Failure Meeting (April 30 – May 3rd, 2009)
