A great loss: Prof. Philip Poole-Wilson passed away

With deep sorrow we received the sad news about Prof. Philip Poole-Wilson's sudden death on March 4th.

Besides his immense scientific and organizational input in the science of cardiology as well as in the world heart health, he was one of our Society's esteemed Honorary Members. He was also one of our official journal “Archives of the TSC”s Editorial Consultants since 2004.

During his Presidency and Board Membership at the World Heart Federation, he had also put immense effort to support the participation of the members of the Turkic World Cardiology Association in the World Heart Federation and attended the 5th TWCA Congress that was held in Almati, Kazakhstan right after his participation in the World Heart Day Press Conference in Istanbul, Turkey on September 20th, 2005.

We would like to extend our deep sorrow and condolences to all the colleagues who had the privilege of meeting, studying and/or working with this exceptional personality.

We are sure Prof. Philip Poole-Wilson will rest in peace as an outstanding personality who served much more than just a mere scientist or a doctor or a teacher or a leader might do since he was a unique combination of all of them as an unforgettable model for all cardiologist.
